Reactions between anilinium salts, such as anilinium chloride, anilinium sulfate, and anilinium camphorsulfonic acid and the oxidant, ammonium peroxydisulfate, result in polyaniline formation on ball-milling the reactants. Spectroscopic studies indicate that polyaniline is formed in its doped, conductive emeraldine oxidation state.
